A burner for those who want to test the hiking life or want to make their afternoon coffee at the local viewpoint. The MSR Pocket Rocket 2 is a top-mounted gas burner from MSR. This small burner weighs only 73 grams, and is among the smallest burners on the market. The burner packs compactly into a practical storage box that fits well in both larger and smaller boilers. Pocket Rocket 2 boils 1 liter of water in 3 minutes and 30 seconds. The burner comes with a pressure regulator so that you get full pressure out of the gas regardless of how much gas is left in the gas box. The low weight means that the burner can be used either separately on short trips or as an emergency burner on longer trips. Gas must be purchased separately. MSR IsoPro is a performance-boosting, 80/20 blend of isobutane and propane, with the purest isobutane (5% or less n-butane) of any canister fuel. This clean-burning formulation maintains higher internal pressure at lower temperatures than standard butane/propane mixtures, delivering superior cold weather performance and more consistent output over the life of the canister.
