Weight 206 g Gender Men   DEVELOPED BY SAILORS The concept of waxed cotton was originally developed in the early 15th century by Scottish herring fishermen, with crews beginning to treat their sails with fish oils and grease to waterproof their rigging. Remnants of these waxed sails were then used as capes to withstand the high winds and sea spray, keeping the sailors warm and dry. Both our suppliers of waxed cotton; Halley Stevenson’s of Scotland (est. 1864) and British Millerain of England (est. 1880), have pioneered the development of the material. Its coating can be maintained by the end user by re-applying wax to the surface, keeping the material soft, supple, and weather-resistant. The finish ensures that the fabric looks better with age, as wax naturally picks up marks and creases through use – adding to the character of the fabric itself.

Super Thermo Longs med innlegg på knærne Super Thermo Longs er perfekt innerst mot huden på kalde eller fuktige dager. Brynje Super Thermo er ideelt for både høy og lav aktivitet, i kaldt eller vått vær. Nettingundertøy er mye brukt på kalde ekspedisjoner og av Forsvaret, og det er ikke uten grunn: Ved høy aktivitet produserer kroppen svette for å kjøle deg ned. Nettingens unike konstruksjon gir få kontaktpunkter mot huden; dermed får du luftsirkulasjon samtidig som damp og overskuddsvarme fraktes vekk fra kroppen. Ved lav aktivitet holder nettingen på varmluften slik at du får et isolerende lag nærmest huden. Nettingen motvirker også kuldebroer fordi det dannes et sammenhengende luftlag mot huden. På grunn av denne dobbeltvirkningen holdes kroppstemperaturen under kontroll – som en termostat. Overoppheting og nedkjøling er hovedårsakene til energitap, og Super Thermo netting forhindrer begge deler.
